Bandit Gaming: Angry Birds Cross onto the Sega Genesis

Angry Birds is one of those games that has transcended gaming and brought in non-gamers much like Myst did in the mid 90’s. What started out as a mobile game, that was as casual as you probably could get, has been ported to home consoles including the Sega Genesis.

The basics are still in tact here, flinging colored birds across the screen into structures. The idea is to take out the green pigs hiding within those structures so that you can get revenge (they stole your eggs). Backgrounds look like they were pulled from a Warner Brothers style cartoon, if done by someone other than Warner Brothers.

The level setup and general physics engine made the unofficial leap to the Sega Genesis. The three points scoring system looks to have been lost though for some reason.

Carl has been gaming on the go since the days of Tiger Electronics and the original Game Boy. Portability is a big factor in gaming across all ages.
