Bloodstained Targets Nintendo Switch, Not Nintendo Wii U, Gameplay Video Embedded

While it is a sad day when a game is canceled, it is good to know that a new platform was added. This was all covered almost a year ago on sites such as IGN. Bloodstained was originally intended to hit the Nintendo Wii U as well as many other platforms but as detailed in that IGN article, the Wii U version was canceled, and the Nintendo Switch edition was added. Recently 505 games released a Nintendo Switch based gameplay video for Bloodstained. After the jump, of course.

Bloodstained is a 2.5D side scrolling “Metroidvania” style game pitting you with the task of stopping this evil alchemist who put a curse on your female protagonist. This curse slowly turns Miriam’s skin into crystal, no amount of moisturizer is going to fix this. Your job is not going to be easy but you are a tough lass, right?

Koji Igarashi, discussed the Nintendo system shakeup on Kickstarter. “During our Kickstarter campaign, the Wii U was at the height of its popularity, but the situation has drastically changed after the release of Nintendo Switch,” he said.

“This change made it difficult to receive the necessary support from the hardware maker, which has led us to drop the Wii U development and shift the development to Nintendo Switch.”

In a recent tweet on the Bloodstained: RotN Twitter account we see a gif-based announcement.

I am a sucker for 2.5D games and have Bloodstained on my watch list on Steam. Anyone else following this one?
