Chuck’s Challenge 3D Ultra 2016 Spiritual Successor to Chip’s Challenge Launches on Android

Chip’s Challenge was a classic action puzzle game that was quite overlooked upon release.  That has not stopped the original developer, Chuck Sommerville, from continuing the family line there.  See, Chip’s Challenge has quite a cult following and it helps that it was a rather good game in the first place.  Chuck’s Challenge 3D Ultra 2016 is just that classic all grown up and optimized for today’s hardware, if you own an NVIDIA Shield compatible device.

While many will scoff at this being an NVIDIA Shield game, just think about this.  The Shield devices are high end, standard across many platforms and easy for devs to optimize to.  This is a problem that I believe Android has, too many variations on the base hardware which directly affect the gaming experience of the end user.  There needs to be something more concrete in the standards.  NVIDIA offers that- that is probably why many more demanding games launch there first.  The cool thing is, you don’t have to own an NVIDIA device to enjoy this one as it is now available for many Android devices (ZTE ZMAX2 and GPD XD included)

The basic idea of Chuck’s Challenge 3D Ultra 2016 is very close to that of the original.  Push stuff around, avoid enemies and traps and find the exit.  Sounds simple, right?  We all know that it is not that simple- otherwise it would not be any fun.

Chuck’s Challenge 3D Ultra 2016 features a level editor and the ability to share those levels with your friends.  This new updated version features retooled graphics using the Unity 3D engine.  There is a rewind function for those times that you screw up and fans get the full experience from the PC version- nothing is cut down to fit “mobile”.

There are 25 levels, 12 new game elements and five new pets in Chuck’s Challenge 3D Ultra 2016.
