Goosebumps 2 Movie Tie-In with HorrorTown Event Launched

Goosebumps HorrorTown

Halloween is a big time of year, especially for gamers. Considering the strong fantasy elements of many games it is only natural that this time of year is going to be a big time to share them, enjoy them, and generally see updates for them. Mobile games in particular, the free to play kind, will see updates left and right featuring Halloween content. Goosebumps HorrorTown is just one such title getting an update. This one is slightly different than the rest though as it ties in with the recently released Goosebumps 2 movie.

“Since launch, Goosebumps: HorrorTown has provided players with an ever-growing assortment of characters, monsters, and adventures set in R.L. Stine’s scarily fun world, and our new Haunted Halloween event is the biggest addition to the game yet,” said Arthur Madrid, CEO and co-founder of Pixowl. “Only your efforts can prevent Slappy from destroying everything the town’s  residents have built, so join other Goosebumps fans in HorrorTown as Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween opens.”

According to the press release, Goosebumps HorrorTown has already passed two million downloads and over 100 million hours of play time. That is quite a bit of cumulative time spent, no wonder they are doing a big cross over event like this with the movie.

If you are not familiar with Goosebumps HorrorTown it is a city building game with a bit of adventure thrown in. The Haunted Halloween event adds over 50 new missions inspired by the film, Goosebumps 2, four new characters, 10 new monsters (finally the Headless Horseman!) and 50 new buildings and decorations are now available to expand your city.

Goosebumps HorrorTown is a casual free to play game so please be warned ahead of time, there are In App Purchases so monitor younger players when playing.
