PUBG Mobile Wins Best Mobile Game Award at Golden Joystick Awards 2018

If you are a gamer of any kind, not just a portable gamer, then you know about PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). Originally launched on the Xbox One and Windows computers, PUBG quickly made its way to the mobile market with a version for Android and iPhone gamers. At this years Golden Joystick Awards show, PUBG Mobile took the top spot for mobile games.

“The team is honored and thrilled that PUBG MOBILE has been recognized by 2018 Golden Joystick Awards,” said Vincent Wang, general manager, PUBG MOBILE global publishing team. “The response to the game from fans has energized everyone at the team as we are heads down working on new, exciting updates and contents for PUBG MOBILE.”

Some interesting stats for PUBG Mobile include over 100 million downloads worldwide, not including China, Korea, and Japan. They also surpassed 20 million concurrent players at one time, quite a feat in itself.

Other awards PUBG Mobile is up for include Fan Favorite Game of 2018 in the Google Play Awards – vote here.

Soon the 0.9.5 patch will be made available and will bring with it the Royale Pass Season 4. Royale Pass will let players compete in daily and weekly missions to earn points and improve their rank. Once a certain number of missions are completed players will be rewarded with crates and currency. Other updates such as new weapon finishes, clothing, and character faces will also see release.
