Remember playing Rayforce and discovering the damage inducing lock on weapon and how cool it was to have TWO weapons at once that operated separately? Super Laser by EpicForce Entertainment brings that secondary weapon style of offense to Android and it is just as cool here as it was in Taito’s retro title (Rayforce is available on iOS by the way).
Overhead shooters are usually viewed as the easier of the two styles from the retro days (side scrolling being the other style). Anyone that believes that should check out Super Laser, it is not easy by any means. Even with passive weapons like the lock on, secondary ones such as the homing missiles and powered up main weapons, walking casually through Super Laser is not going to happen.
While the enemies are more of the general variety, they are not pushovers. That is the key to a good shooter, while great graphics are nice, they are only icing on the cake to a good shooting engine. Super Laser has the basics down pat though so it is fun to keep going after the aliens that are put in front of you. There are even some puzzles within the levels in having to figure out where to be to survive large portions floating in space around you while avoiding incoming fire.
Fly the unfriendly skies of Super Laser: The Alien Fighter and blow those bug eyed weirdos back to their own galaxy.
