Belkin Connect Usb-c To 4-port Usb-c Hub Reviews

Belkin has built a reputation for reliable, well-engineered connectivity gear, and its USB-C hubs, including the popular Connect 4-port USB-C designs, are frequently recommended for laptop and tablet users who want a trustworthy way to expand ports. But the Belkin lineup spans everything from simple portable hubs to full Thunderbolt 4 docks, and the differences matter.

This review focuses on Belkin’s USB-C hub range, evaluating the multiport adapters, HDMI-equipped models, and Thunderbolt options so you can pick the one that genuinely fits your MacBook, iPad, or PC and the ports you actually need.

Design & Build

Belkin’s hallmark is build quality, and it shows across this range. The 4-Port USB C Hub is ultra-portable, a compact multiport unit with two USB-C and two USB-A ports and a tethered USB-C cable, ideal for slipping into a bag. The 100W 10Gbps Multiport hub and the 5-in-1 and 8-in-1 models step up with 4K HDMI, power delivery, and dual-display support in slim aluminum housings. At the top sits the Belkin Connect Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station, a 5-in-1 desk unit with 96W power and single 8K or dual 4K output. Materials and fit feel premium throughout.

Performance

The pure 4-port USB-C hub does exactly what it promises, fast USB 3.0/3.2 data across four ports, though note it has no pass-through charging, so it’s best for peripherals rather than as a docking solution. The 100W 10Gbps model is the standout for data, combining high-speed transfer with power delivery to keep your laptop charged. For display work, the 5-in-1 with 4K HDMI and the 8-in-1 dual-display hub cover single and dual monitor needs, and the Thunderbolt 4 dock handles the most demanding 8K/dual-4K setups. Match the model to whether you prioritize raw ports, charging, or displays.

Pros & Cons

• Excellent Belkin build quality and reliability.
• Fast 10Gbps data on the higher-end hubs.
• Up to 100W power delivery on the charging models.
• Options for every need, from portable to Thunderbolt dock.

• The basic 4-port hub lacks pass-through charging.
• Premium pricing versus generic hubs.
• Display support varies, so check HDMI specs per model.

Alternatives to Consider

If you need dedicated dual-monitor output and desk permanence, step up from the portable 4-port hub to the Belkin Thunderbolt 4 dock or the 8-in-1 dual-display model. Budget shoppers who only need occasional ports might find a generic hub cheaper, though with less assured reliability. And MacBook users wanting the simplest charging-plus-display combo should look at the 100W 5-in-1 rather than the charge-free 4-port unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Belkin 4-port USB-C hub charge my laptop?

No, the basic 4-Port USB C Hub has no pass-through charging. For charging, choose the 100W multiport or a model with dedicated PD.

Can these hubs drive dual monitors?

The 8-in-1 dual-display hub and the Thunderbolt 4 dock support dual screens; simpler models handle a single 4K display.

Are Belkin hubs compatible with iPad and MacBook?

Yes, the range explicitly supports MacBook, iPad Pro, Chromebook, and PC over USB-C.

Is 10Gbps data worth it?

For external SSDs and fast transfers, yes, the 100W 10Gbps model noticeably outpaces older 5Gbps hubs.

Verdict

Belkin’s USB-C hubs are a safe, high-quality bet. The Connect 4-Port USB-C hub is perfect as a portable, charge-free way to add peripherals, but if you need power delivery choose the 100W 10Gbps model, and for dual displays or a permanent desk setup step up to the 8-in-1 or the Thunderbolt 4 dock. Buy for the ports and charging you truly need.
